Default No I believe you are wrong

BMW claims 0-100kmh in 4.7 sec, your claim is for 0-60mph. Porsche claims 4.2 sec to 100kmh. 0-200km for M5 is 15 seconds flat from what I've found.

Porsche weighs less (which compensates for lack of HP) and it also has more torque then M5. There is no way in hell BMW would gain 1.5 seconds from 100 - 200 kmh on a car that has "same" hp/lb and higher tq.

Default a) I wouldn't exactly trust that website.

b)use your common sence and look at the figures I've shown you. They are from BMW and PORSCHE not some IT guys There is no way M5 would gain over a second from 100-200kmh on the 911TT

Default you're confused..'06 coupe MSRP $44.9, Z06 at ~$68K and that >>

will put the M5 at the very back of the pack performance wise. I hear the M5 trick tranny is not so sweet. Typical overly complicated German engineering

Default absolutely agree..as is my TT, for that car is way too small & bouncy for >>

my every day driver.
The sweet deal is those so called "mid life crisis" guys (like me?) now have the $$ to buy a little toy like a vette (or a tt)

Default I know :)

Original post reffered to a Z06 vette so thats why I compared a 70K Vette to a 80K M5.

Z06 is a great value, but people who buy Z06 can definately afford an M5 and that was my point to begin with

Default TT is very easy to live with. Its a tourer. Yes there is lack of space, but really who needs all

that space anyhow? Vette on the other hand is a pure performance car that you really "should" drive only if you plan on driving it like you stole it I would never take a cross country trip in a vette, but I would do it in a TT in a hearbit. Plus there is all that quattro mumbo jumbo How many vetts do you see driving around in the winter? M5 on the other hand can be driven all year round and carrying load and 5 passengers. If you buy a regular vette (45K) and get another car as a daily driver (30K) you'll have two cars that cost nearly as much as an M5 and M5 will still better both cars put together in most if not all categories. Thats the real value of M5, but I'm sure we both understand that. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't simply look at the sticker price of the vette, you also have to consider that you'll have to get another car to compensate for areas where vette can't suffice.
