Default Got a flat today....

Has anyone had any of their Bridgestone Potenza RE040's patched after a flat? I think it is patchable because the hole is dead center in the middle of the tire. I am kind of worried about patching it though, would rather buy a new tire, but don't feel like spending $200+. I think a nail went through it and came out because there is a hole, but no nail. Was on 83S in PA and ran over a little piece of wood in the middle of the road

Default i just had one of my re040s patched by my dealer at the 25k service...

had a big nail in it. cost $15 -- dealer says the patch should be fine until i replace the tire at the end of this year.

Default Thanks Dave, I am going to take it somewhere tomorrow morning....

This donut spare sucks! I was driving 50mph the rest of the way home today on 695 and 295. People kept looking at me all weird and buses were passing me!

Default aaron -- if you brought it to tischer first thing monday morning (get there at 7)...

they probably could fix your tire before 8...of course, that would mean that you'd have to drive on the doughnut all day tomorrow.

passed by busses and minivans -- that's bad. :-(

in fact one of the patches was near a sidewall, and it has done perfect since.

Default I was going to take it to Pep Boys tomorrow morning...

they said they can patch it for me. Patch from the inside and then balance the tire. Around $25 I believe. Do you think the dealer would do a better job? I want to make sure I get it done right.

Patch on inside with vulcanized rubber. Had this done on my car and has withstood some high speeds!
