Default got my apr fmic but.......

i have no clue how to mount it. I have a 225 TT, it came with 3 mounting brackets 2 z style brackets different sizes, and a L shape bracket.

Has anyone done a apr fmic install before? if so how do I mount this damn thing? also does the fmic feeds face up or down on the passenger side?

I don't understand why such a big company doesn't include instructions with there product. On top of that there how to on there site is garbage also.

Default here ya go ....

I found this one here:
http://public.fotki.com/martt/audi_tt/mods/fmic-dan/
but I am not even sure it is an APR FMIC, so, you need to do some homework and look for another site, here is a page with LOTS of links:

Default Call APR tomorrow... (Edited)

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/94558/aprfmic.jpg"></center><p>
I'll bet you they're going to be happy to tell you how to mount it...but if you can't wait...

Note that the picture of the intercooler on their website is upside down and backwards, so I fixed it and posted here. The L-bracket is for you to mount the fmic to the lower mounting point, and the two z-brackets are for you to drill and mount into the front bumper. DO NOT drill the z-bracket holes until you've mounted the L-bracket, you could miss the mark, and that would suck for you. I'd call APR regardless and tell them you want another L-bracket since the graphic shows two of them and that's obviously how they intended for it to be mounted.

Personally I'd be concerned about mounting to the bumper, one because I don't like drilling things without holes, and two because there are mount points on there for other l-brackets. Anyway, check out the altered picture for an idea about that. THEN, click on the link to Mike's FMIC install, you should be able to deduce where to connect your mounting brackets.

Here's a link to the best FMIC install write-up I've seen (thanks Mike!)

If you can't figure it out with this one, you've probably been drinking <ul><li><a href="http://public.fotki.com/mcphill/audi_stuff/engine_and_drivetrain/oct_front_mount/">http://public.fotki.com/mcphill/audi_stuff/engine_and_drivetrain/oct_front_mount/</a></li></ul>

Default Agreed....I'm concerned about some things...

Robert's install shows only one z-bracket and they sent Deadly two of them. In contrast, that pic I posted shows two L-brackets and he only received one of them. I'd be demanding four in total if I were both of them.

Moreover, the OCT and FMIC kits provide upper z-brackets for mounting to the body of the car rather than the bumper, I'd be trying like hell to get those and some more L-brackets.

As stated, I'm not a fan of drilling...bottom line, it ruins structural integrity and that's no good for anyone.

Default Tcarbons is BETTER IMO .....

He has both top and bottom brackets, and they mount up easily as well.

Not only that, but it is less expensive and is a HIGH Quality product too.

Default Umm before you make statements like that.....

you should really know what you are talking about. I'll leave it at that.

APR's FMIC is one of the best engineered pieces out there.
