3380 with 3/4 tank!

<Img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/9/tt_scale_2.jpg">

My friend and I were betting between 3480 (my guess) and 3550 (his).

I'm actually pleasantly surprised by it's overall weight, front to rear distribution (1% better than my A4) and current corner balance - since it will be easy for me to transfer some weight and also tune when I get real springs and shocks. Also, I did not check to see how level scales are, so corner balance is probably off at least 1-2%. I'll make platforms for these before the tuning starts.

Currently the wheel/tires weigh 52lbs each so if I need to tune it for AutoX, there is some weight to be lost there. Then there are other things I can temporary swap out for AutoX also. I can get this thing down about 100 lbs.

So, what is missing from stock is the stock exhaust - weighing a total of about 45 lbs iirc, but my current twin exhaust is about 35. Then the rear bias weight (35lbs), all the stock IC and plumbing, and assorted stuff, which I imagine did not contribute more than 5 lbs vs what replaced it.

Default very nice

it looks like there's still a lot you can do if you're really going for a lightweight TT:
brakes, lighter wheels/tires(my wheel/tire combo weighs 39 lbs/corner), seats, and LW battery come to mind...

i think you relocated your battery, right? do you have any pics or info on how to do it (parts needed, etc..)? Thanks.

Default sorry no pics other than my poster, since my old webhoster doesn't work anymore...

But I signed up for some new space and domain name, so in a matter of weeks, I'll have a lot of pics and how-to's of pretty much what I have pictures for - probably since '99 since I didn't have a digicam before that

Funny that the battery relocation (placed on the rear right) upset the corner balance unloaded. I am curious to see how the actual corner balance with my weight on the drivers seat and foot well balance the battery out.

And you're dead on my plans for lightening I'll be sporting 16x8's for AutoX. They should weigh 38-39 lbs with 245 tires. Seats, I'll probably make my Corbeaus work - currently used in A4. They are 12lbs each with a 10lb rail. But I'll fabricate a new rail for the TT.

Default cool...the writeups, etc.. should be really helpful

i'm almost done with my weight reduction mods for the year (brakes should be going on this weekend), and unfortunately I'm stuck with the oem seats (boat anchors) for this year! did you relocate the stock battery, or did you go with a lw battery?

what offset wheels will you be running for the 245s? I'm only asking b/c even my 225 kumho MXs are very close to the strut in the front.

Default I plan to get them at min 30 mm offset. 25 if I have fender room...

I'll be using studs like my A4, so spacer thickness is not a problem - example, I'm running 15mm offset on my A4 right now with 30 mm spacers on a stock swing wheel (16x7, 45mm offset).

Oops. Looks like I nuked the battery pics from my poster (soory none at work). I still have the stock battery - weighs about 33 lbs, mounted on the right rear.
