Default Grrrrr. Week is not starting out good....

The autoglass guy just called me and told me that the windshield he has includes two big scratches in it. Soooo he put my old one back (now VERY cracked) until Wednesday when he gets a new one. UGH!

Default Why wouldn't he have checked that first? lol sorry to hear that.

Maybe you should have him install the one with the scratches then replace that when you get back home from your TT-East drive! Why risk breaking YOUR new windshield!

Yeah, you'd think a guy would take a look at the new one before yarding the cracked one out!

Default You can believe I tried that

He says that it looks like the manufacturer scratched it and tried to buff it out. He didn't catch it on 1st inspection. He admitted it was his fault, he was pretty upset. I think he is afraid of the reputation folks from my company have.
He says that he has to return it for even replacement or he would give it to me.

Default Since I am in a "window" business right now I can offer some perspective

Window material is shipped with protective masking. There is no sure fire way of being 100% sure of the state of the window until the masking is removed and its a PITA to completely remove and reapply masking to check. Much easier to just check at the time of install.
