Default GTO 6.0s are a fun go on the freeway!

had a guy jump on my bumper on a RARE in L.A. 4 lane empty freeway. at 3800 lbs they're no lightweight, but once at speed that starts having less of an effect. we stayed pretty close with me not able to tell if I was pulling or not in 4th. i pulled abit thru 5th and then 6th put a couple cars but not very quickly. he gave a suprised but genuine thumbs up.

what i always find interesting is how math really does work in the real world. my car is roughly 360 crank hp on 91 gas. at 3200lbs (truck scale) that puts me at 8.8lbs/hp. his 3800/400 gives 9.5lbs/hp. so I have alittle better power to weight which = alittle bit better pull. now i need to run someone equivalent to my car on my race file of 405hp = 7.9!!!

Default at those speeds, drag becomes the x factor>>>

which is a big reason it does not take a lot of hp or torque to get to 100mph.....and a whole lot more to get to 200mph.....IMO

Gearing comes into that equation as well, I would suspect.

Default So I only need another 20hp in my Mk2 STaSIS TT and I can run with you (in the dry of course!) ;)

2822/300=9.4lbs/hp so I got the GTO, especially with my better aerodynamics.

Now if I can get STaSIS to boost output from 300 to 320 (probably need a HPFP for that)... 2822/320=8.2lbs/hp.

Of course, you've probably got the baby seat and dog in the car, so it's tough to judge who'd come out on top.

Default If he put 1/2 your $'s in mods on the GTO, he would have embarrassed you !

They get 550-600 HP w/supercharger and headers.

Quick Reply: GTO 6.0s are a fun go on the freeway!
