Default guess the failure! Yes, it is that time again...

my tt was flatbeded to the garage last night.

The symptoms are as follows.

1 - temp gauge was showing cooler then normal for most of the last month or two.

2 - last night after work the gauge showed hot after 5 minutes of driving. The icon also appeared in the display panel.

3 - pulled over and checkedfluid in the catch res, it was at the correct level.

(as an aside, had the cluster replaced in the last 5-6 months)

Default well, if you flatbeded...could be a few things.

if you were afraid it would overheat...waterpump.

if you couldn't start the car...fuel pump/sender.

Did you check the temp on the HVAC diagnostics screen?

Default Test the radiator temp with a laser thermometer.

Likely it is cold while the engine is hot. Check that on the HVAC readout. Hot engine cold radiator= thermostat or water pump. A quick test might be to turn the heat up all the way and see if it blows hot air. If coolant is not flowing it will blow colder than normal.
Good luck, and wise decision not to try and limp home.

Default Stuck thermostat or maybe wp, and there seems to be an issue with the owner too >>>

Maybe you shouldn't have ignored that it was running cool for 2 months.

Default hmmm>>>.

in order i would guess...

1- Cluster

2- green temp sensor

3- cooling fans/relay

Thermostats typically get stuck open, so i will skip that one
