Default Had my 30,000 service this week. Couple of questions and comments:

I had the problem with the 2nd to 3rd shift grind at high RPM's. I had heard that there is a new tranny fluid, so I asked to have that changed. Seems to have fixed that problem (so far).

Also, my brakes have been awfully sqeaky lately, so I asked to have that checked out. Here's what they wrote on the service statement:

Cause: Modify brakes
44051900 Remove and install 1 or 2 tires
46363200 Modify front brakes-cleaned and relubricate side points.
Front brakes at 60% and rear brakes at 50%. Still well above Audi specs.

This did nothing to solve the squeal. I don't even know if they did anything to the back brakes. They are just as noisy as before the service. Is there a TSB that addresses this problem? I've seen an "anti-squeal" spray... Has anyone tried this before? Is it worth taking off my wheels and calipers? That squeal is annoying as hell and makes my car sound like a piece of junk.

Finally, I got a "Free Track Day Inspection" and new wiper blades, without asking! What a deal...

Default Did you mean "Gear Oil" when you wrote "tranny fluid"?

Or is replacing the transmission fluid normal for the 30K service?

Default No, it's not normal, but I asked for it to be changed. Here's what's on the statement:

Check transmission/shifting--hard to shift 2-3 gears at higher RPM's

Cause: Trans fluid change
34579999 Manual Transmission Synthetic Oil--Drain & Refill
2 G-052-145-S2 TRANS OIL

Thanks, my 30K should be coming up in a few months. I'll put this down on the list

Default My brakes have been squeaking lately, too

so I'll be interested in finding out what your solution is.
