Default Haldex Binding

Hey Folks,

I've been off-list for many months, but need to dip in for some list wisdom.

I'm having the Haldex binding issue described elsewhere in the list. (e.g. https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1337084.phtml)

When I pop out fuse 31, the binding goes away (at least in my brief test), which seems like good news from a diagnostic standpoint. But every so often there is a pretty substantial "buck" from the rear (which didn't happen before).

When I had the haldex fluid changed < 10,000 miles ago, my guy said it all looked fine (clean with no shards). The problem was already happening then, though much less often. So I think it is safe to say that it isn't a fried Haldex.

Did any of you come to a solution on this? If the binding goes away does that mean it is the controller?

Any insights would be a big help.

Thanks!

- Charlie

Default Good plan.

Hey TTschwing!

I'll have my mech do that, since I haven't got a lift....

But I'm on the road all month (not in the TT), so I won't get that input until August.

I was curious how the story had ended for some of the other folks who had the issue.

Thanks!

Default One step further...

Have the diff and Haldex unit failures always been accompanied by nasty fluids? Or have some gone bad without obvious signs?

Thanks!
