Default hard-starting lately - any ideas ?? >>

it's been very wet here in the northeast. it's worse in the wet.. but still hard-starts when it's dry.

i've changed the plugs, cleaned the filter, changed the temp sensor. i'm out of ideas.

you have to give it gas on start-up or it will stall, and even sometimes that doesn't help (drive by wire doesn't care about me giving it gas).

thanks
andrew

Did you get some bad gas? Try some dry gas and cleaner

Default Actually, while the details may be different, the answer is the same. :^)

Most definitely fuel or spark. Since you mention having to "give it gas", traditionally I would think fuel. So try Green TT's recommendation with the fuel filter. Then maybe some cleaning. Throttle body, injectors, etc.

Weak coil packs? That could account for poor starting. But does it miss when you do run it?

Default thanks for all the advice - i'm going with fuel filter >>

i have run techron, cleaned the throttle body and no misfires occur under load (so i'm ruling out coilpacks)

anyone know the correct part number?

2000 audi tt fwd / engine code atc

Default I've had this same **** forever now. Did all that you have and more, still there! >>

Been having this problem from years ago every time the temperature drops. Now, it's in the 70's and it does it more often than ever! First start-up of the day, right!? I've also noticed that when idling on rare occations, it hessitates a little also. First things to go were the plugs, fuel filter, fuel injection cleaning, had the 80k service along with timing belt and h20 pump. Next I had the battery tested, changed the coolant temp sensor. Shops that I have been to, even Audi, does not know how to fix this problem. AGH! If you find a solution, please keep the rest of us updated! Thanks man, and goodluck!

*side note, I've always used Chevron Supreme gas. Not helping me any in this department.
