i hardwired my v1 radar locator this weekend. i tapped into fuse 24 (i think) using the direct wire power adapter and ran the wire through the a-pillar to the main unit on the windshield. i then ran another wire out of the fusebox panel to the concealed display which is attached by velco to the lower dash panel.
anyway, it mostly works great, except for a few things:
1. the velcro does not stick well to the rubber dash (not a smooth surface, i guess; i used industrial strength velcro brand)
2. sometimes when i do a one-touch up for the driver's window, it goes back DOWN halfway after going all the way up.
3. sometimes the stereo display shows garbled characters.
i'm assuming electrical problems because of the tap to the existing fuse. Can anyone confirm this? How do I tap to one of the empty fuses? Also, which number fuses are empty and can power the V1 in switched mode (ie. on/off with car ignition)? please include all accessories i may need to buy.
thanks.
