Default Has anybody considered the E3 Spark plug ?

The engineering behind this product looks convincing, not sure how our coil packs would react to the open gap set-up of these.
Any thoughts or experiences ?

Features:
# Note the flame kernel's projection toward piston head
# Flame moves toward piston and bulk air/fuel mixture - less quenching on cylinder walls
# Reduced time delay in flame growth - shorter path to piston head
# Faster flame growth compared to standard plugs
# Larger flame kernel moves heat faster into combustion chamber
# Larger flame front creates more localized pressure, making a faster pressure rise in cylinder during the power stroke

E3 SPARK PLUGS

Default Kinda reminds me of when those POS Splitfires were introduced...>>

Cheezy plugs with a Huge advertising budget. Lotsa Hype about "New" technology....right.
Personally, I'd stick with the stuff that works and is proven on these engines...

You don't want to be the guy who swallows an electrode and needs a new motor..

Default Hummmm... I have 62K on a set of Denso Iridiums with no complaints.

Guess I should'nt rock the boat.
I am still on the origional coil packs at 135K miles. Thats why I was concerned about the gap on these..

Default Wow!

Chances are the gaps have opened a bit in 62K! I think you're probably due! RoberTT found his opened from .032 to .039 in 30K. Bigger gap = more strain on the paks. You must have the superman versions! I run IK22's also but only 23K...They've been flawless.

Default Had similar experience on early 90's 350 SBC in a truck-->

The splitfires were only new plug I ever saw raise an idle speed. After many, many no problem miles, I decided to try the hyped Bosch platinums... UGH!!! On first start the truck no longer idled smoothly, a definite variable miss in the idle. I had quality metal core/8mm silicon wires while both of these sets were on. Wished I had not thrown out the Splitfires. Not saying I'd go back to Splits again with iridiums out now, but they more than held their own in all types of street use.
