Has anybody run 245/45/17's on stock suspension? There shouldn't be any clearance problems, right?

on fat 5 rims??? You will lower the number of rotations>>>
per mile and the speedo will be off a bit...and i am not sure, but 245 maybe be a bit large for the 7.5 width on the Fat fives...
Definitely will close in the front...

This will be on my 17x8 track wheels for track use only so the speedo doesn't matter much..
1010tires.com calculator says that the 245/45/17 will be:
Speedometer Difference: 2.839% too slow
Actual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h
Speedometer1: 58.3 mph 97.2 km/h
But I am mostly concerned with the clearance.

Why not 245/40? Those are the right diameter, although both are a bit wide for a 8" rim.
I'm thinking of running a 235/40-17 on a 8" rim at the track. Haven't tried it yet though

Wouldn't there be more tire outside, causing the sidewall not to stretch as much>>
and making it a softer (worse handling) ride?
my friend bought a car with a 225 on a 7" wide wheel, it just looks wrong.
235/40 for 8"
