Has anyone connected an external tach. to the TT cluster wiring?
I'm not even sure it can be done, esp. with the CAN-BUS cars.
I know there is a RPM signal at the cluster, but if it can drive external Tachs. is another question.
No, not planning any changes, just curious.

Based on the fact that Schwing's sequential LED tach works, I'd say it's entirely possible.
But I'm definitely not the smartest individual in the world when it comes to this stuff, so take my comment with a grain of salt (or a healthy dose of good bourbon -- which will likely lend more credibility to my theory).

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I recall seeing OBD tachs that read the signal from the
diagnostics port. Should be a very easy hook up if thats the case. I remember seeing a shop use it on my old A4 when I brought it in for safety and emission test.
