Default Has anyone had any problems with a driveshaft?

I was at a stop light two days ago and I took off slightly aggresive and I heard a loud thump then at speed I heard severe vibration coming from the rear of the car. When I would slow down I could put the car in neutral and coast and the car felt like it was going to stall like it was still in gear and braked without engaging the clutch. I took the car in and my dealer told me the rear driveshft is warped. I hadn';t hit anything (they could tell there was no other damage).

Default You can't damage teh driveshaft without also damaging the exhaust

the driveshaft above the exhaust.

Default Also I don't think there is anyway to warp the driveshaft. Its not like a brake rotor. Honestly..

it sounds like your dealership doesn't have a clue.

They told me the exhaust was not damaged, which stumped the tech.

Default I hope not that was their exact word warped.

They are ordering another it has to come from Germany, so I will be TTless for at least a week.

Default How are you going to get to TT-East???

Will they loan you a TT, or will your car be finished before then?

Hope it gets fixed ASAP.

Default Right now I have an A6 loaner, but I'm trying to squeeze a TT out of my dealer.

Don't think it will work though.
