Default Has anyone made a fiberglass (or other lightweight) enclosure?

being that i'm trying to keep weight down, i was curious if anyone has or makes anything like this?

i have a MDF box with 2 10" rockfords from my old car that weighs a lot... i could probably knock a decent amount off with a fiberglass box...

Default Yes.

Here's mine, partially done by my installer right before TT East, then the shop closed out of the blue (for good) during TT-E, and I don't know when the guy's going to finish it now. No way of contacting him. ARRRRGHGHGH!!!!

It wasn't his fault though, and he did a nice job so far. I'll try to enclose pics here of the box, which he formed the bottom out of fiberglass (more to get maximal sub box volume out of all the nooks and crannies left when you remove the rear seat), and made the sides/top out of MDF board. I like that he made little storage bins on either side. A thin top and matching interior material will follow if the installation ever gets back on track.....

BTW, that's not my "Xplod" sub, my JL lives in there...

Default Pic 3...

I think it's kind of a cool idea; it seals the box that much better. He's done it a few times in the past, but usually to the outside of the box.
