Has anyone noticed if a fan comes on after you shut off the TT and lock it? is it supposed to?

Default Yup, but not a "fan", I believe. Check other postings. It's an elec. cooling pump for the turbo

Default Is it load... is it audible sitting inside the car after some driving and then killing the engine?

I've never notice this with our TT (180FWD). How loud is this noise - don't need a cooked turbo.

Default not loud, more of a low buzz-type. Can't really hear it from inside, but it stays on a long time!

Default Two issues...a cooling fan for radiator CAN come after turning of engine...

and is very noticeable from inside and outside car (somewhat loud like a hair dryer sound) and then there is the cooling pump for the turbo that WILL come after each driving of car. Ladder is a more subtle sound and is higher pitched than radiator fan sound.

Default Much more eloquent explination...

Of course a "fan" will or may come on for the radiator, but I have noticed the pump noise more often. Forgive me, I'm a TTQR 'newbie'.
(MichaelTT - Hoping my EBC pads arrive today, looking forward to it.)

Default RoverTT, I also have a 180FWD, I can't seem to hear anything, and the dealer just told ...

me that everything is ok.... I took it in because it was overheating and all they
could find was that the cooling fluid was low. Once the topped it off it runs fine,
but It heats up if I park it and turn it off ( I turn it off, wait a cpl of mins and turn the key to pos 1 so I can see the temp gauge... its 1/4 hotter than normal) but as soon as I turn the car on again it IMMEDIATELY cools down.
Does yours do this?
2000 Audi TT 180hp Coupé (Blue)
