Seems like this is a bad month ...
Two riders in a single accident were air-lifted off the Cherohala last week after high-siding at mile 11 on the North Carolina side. Injuries did not sound life threatening. A female rider rode off of US 129 into the Cheoah River on Friday. Speed was not a factor but for some reason she overbraked and went off the road and into the river.

Honestly, when I drove it, speed wasn't the issue. Staying in the lane was. I think I hit
the limit maybe 4 or five times and I'm not sure I ever went over. And I was driving hard.

I've seen some motorcycles going stupid stupid fast on that road. Don't get me wrong, I love that road. I've hammered my car up there about as hard as I can, and hope to be able to continue doing so. The way society is getting, though, I just don't know how much longer stuff like this is going to be tolerated.
