Default Have a TT Rolling Chassis. What To Make

On a mild budget and assuming you have a rolling chassis TT Quattro, what motor would you go with? I'm more interested in doing something that hasn't been done, not speed.

The 2.7 from a b5 s4. Good on power, tons of aftermarket parts, poor Audi quality.

The 4.2 from a b6 s4. V8 would be extremely rare for a TT, but kind of heavy and underpowered. Positive is to keep the car in the Audi family.

The LS1 5.7 V8. Run with it here, they are aluminum block, easy to work on, tons of aftermarket parts, the list goes on. I've seen them fit in Civics, Miatas, Rx7's.. it can be done.

I still have the 1.8.. but i already have a new car to drive because the TT has been in the shop for so long. I am going to make it a project for the winter. I'm leaning towards the LS1 just because it would be wild to have a V8 in the TT.. even though it wouldn't be necessarily fast. Aside from the wiring difficulty, custom exhaust to come up with, fitment in the small engine bay, and motor mounts you'd have to make... it's possible. Anything is with enough time, effort, and money. What do you think?

Default LS1 powered RX7....>>>

Cool. Build yourself a DTM car. LS3 crate motors can be had for $6500

Default I think it'd be VERY difficult to get either V8 to fit. A 2.7 S4 engine has been done before...

I think finding an appropriate transmission/driveline would be a huge hurdle.

Default I've thought Alot about it.

I'm studying custom car design. I dont necessarily have a time frame or any restraints. The Vette uses a torque shaft and rear mounted tranny. You could cut the floor section out for the torque shaft. It would need to be shortened about 5 inches for it to be the right dimensions. I'd also have to make a subframe for the rear suspension. If anyone has seen the Civette, you know what kind of ideas are floating around. IMO he didn't take his time, and it was a very flawed idea. But it is very possible to do
