The hazard of being lowered becomes a reality. Underside of chin spoiler

scratched badly by a parking lot concrete tire bumper. Someone, who shall remain anonymous and who almost never drives it, ran up on a concrete bumper and scratched the bottom pretty badly. Question: Can it be wet sanded and painted for less than buying a new one, ABT's chin spoiler is $650 (ouch) plus painting. Am I really looking at 1k of damage here? Will post picture later when I get a chance.
Scratches are full width of the spoiler and some are noticiable from the front while most of the damage is on the bottom where no one but my mechanic ever looks.

be able to paint the bottom of the chin without having to repaint the whole nose. They should only have to paint from the seam just above the lower grills.

that was sticking up out of one of the holes that held the concrete bumper in place. It was at night, and I had no way of really seeing it.
I would concentrate on the visible scratches and forget the rest. You can always have it repainted later, when the expense might be easier to swallow. If you want to do some touch up work yourself, get some from the dealer, or you can buy Toyota 3230 touch up paint (Pep Boys has it), it's a silver that's almost identical to Lake Silver. Considering it's your chin spoiler and not your hood, you could probably do enough so that it's not noticeable except for up close.
Eventually the bottom would get it's share of scratches and nicks anyway as road debris would take its toll.

one other car in the body shop with a fender bender (not me again) to the tune of $3500. I don't want to overload State Farm's claim system.

You may wanna check for it. Dealer covered one of my cannons that got crunched. They're located right under the lip, apparently. CB first warned us of this about a year ago.
