I just came back from a 1 hour drive, i must say it was pleasant but that damn little trap door in my Roadster keept opening while I was eating. Is it possible to get it to lock when using the inside lock switch?

Default I don't know of any solution to the trap door popping open when you bop it with your elbow.

This used to bug me too. But now it almost never happens and when it does I use my elbow to close it without much thought.

Default Well if you were to lock it then it wouldn't open!1

When you lock the doors with the remote it actually locks that trap door.....

Default Mine does...

I assume by trap door you mean the little compartment in between the two seats? Mine locks when you lock with the inside lock swtich.

Default Yea, it also locks the small cubbyhole behind the driver for the CD changer.

But I'm reluctant to lock the car with the key remote while I'm driving the car since the remote sets the car alarm. Have you tested that approach?

Default There is a hinged door to a small cubby hole above the sub-woofer that is just at elbow height.

The door is a press-to-open and press-to-close door so when you give it even the slightest bump with an elbow it pops open. And if you actually attempt to use the cup holders between the seats while you are driving it is very likely that you'll bump the door.

I clipped this graphic from a .pdf file that is a self study TT Roadster Tutorial for Service Technicians written in German. I don't read German but there are some nice graphics.
