So 1-2 months ago, a service bulletin was sent to dealers with information about Handy Adapter Sets for the the Motorola V.60 (includes phone) and the Nokia 51/61/71XX. I've talked to a few dealers and pieced some of this together -- if anyone has more info, that'd be great.

For pre-2002 cars with the analog pre-wiring, some of the pre-wired features are usable. The Radio muting and the cluster display features work but not the speaker or the microphone. Here are some parts needed, but I'm not completely clear. Also, prices are cost... not retail (which are much higher, maybe 40%?)

Now you need an antenna. You have two choices.

I'm getting the idea that this kit essentially includes a Nokia control module and cradle (much like the CARK-91H from Nokia), a custom harness, a microphone and speaker and the same Molded Cell Phone Holder that's been available for awhile.

I have the 8E0-051-431-A kit for the Nokia 71xx (I have a 2002 w/o phone prep mind you). But where do I mount it? And I guess I need an antenna too. 2002s don't come with the little black nub on the roof unless they have the phone prep.

What do the two antenna part numbers you list look like?
I found some older serverice bullitens online (http://mach.mach-nine.com/gti/vwtechcontent/audipdf/a919901.pdf) but the puzzel isn't complete.

Why is this such a F!#$ing mistry? I have the full Nokia car kit w/privacy handset in my Chevy Truck and its awesome. Can't live without it!

I've confirmed all this info with a 16 page fax from Audi Parts Technical line. Again, this is for the RETROFIT kit for a Nokia handset in a pre-2002 car with the Analog wiring.

Corrections:

- The Microphone is included in the kit.
- The console is optional and is the one in the picture.

So, basically you need 5 parts: Nokia Kit, Harness, Speaker, Antenna (either one) and the Console or optionally, some other mounting point.

I'll post scans of some of the fax pictures if they turn out. It's a fax of a fax, unfortunately.
