Default Help! Car smells like rotten eggs!

On the drive to work today hit a some ice and the traction control kicked in. Got the car off of the snow and the check engine light started blinking. Started heading back to the house and the car felt like it was missing. Got home and the car had a strong sulfer smell. Did one of my coil packs go bad?

Perhaps someone egged your car when you weren't looking.

Default overheated catalytic converters used to smell like sulfur

not sure if that's still the case today with the different metals they use in them...
Can't be good, though...

Default A failed upstream O2 sensor can do that

The wife's pre-OBD M5 used to smell like that until it failed an emissions test and subsequent O2 sensor replacement. The fact that something triggered the CEL would suggest maybe a bad wiring connection.

Default CAT or ......

I had this problem with a 944 turbo and it was the CAT. There were other possibilities...none of which were good....TAKE IT IN...it may be running lean.
