Default Help with clutch sensor?

Hi everyone. About a month ago I posted under a different name asking opinions on if I should buy a California 2001 225hp quattro. Well here I am and I've had the car for a week, love it to death.

My check engine light came on a few days ago while a friend was driving it, and AutoZone scanned it and said this:

P1539 - Clutch pedal switch signal fault
-Open or short circuit condition
-Probable cause: Failed clutch switch

Is this something I can just order a part and fix myself? If so, where is this clutch switch located? Will the check engine light reset itself afterwards or do I have to clear it? and if I have to do it, where would I go to have someone clear it, because Autozone wouldn't do it. Thanks so much for all your help in advance and it's nice to finally talk to you guys and not just lurk around
