Default I have H&Rs, and clunking, but think it's the 1-time use upper strut bolts. I'm

leaving for the Audi dealer right now to pick up a new pair.

Good point, i have always wanted to change the shocks, just never got around to it .. hmm.

Default I have never actually switched them out...

I would go to H&R directly...
I sold mine on Ebay before I really knew they were bad. Months after I sold them someone else had the same problems I did and deamed them bad.

I know their coilovers have major problems like this, I would think they would swap out their springs also- talk to Brad (EighTT) he has done it

Default I hope to do it this weekend. If it's not the bolts, then it's the springs for sure. I've already

tried lubing the swaybar.

They're West Coast (open now). They'll tell you that nothing's wrong w/the springs.
