Default HELP: does anyone have any advice for fighting a "moving violation" in florida? (more)

i was stopped by a state trooper for doing 60 in a 45, but he "did me a favor" and cited me for a "moving violation" (i.e. not obeying the traffic sign). as i understand it this is is the same citation as "rolling a stop sign", and not as serious as the speeding ticket would have been.

anyway, i wanted to see if any of y'all have a good way to fight it (possibly by mail like you can in california). it's only an $80 ticket, but since i've had another speeding ticket this year i can't take a driving improvement course, and i will get points on my license (something i'd like to avoid).

sorry for rambling!
thanks!
bob

Default Wait a few days and you'll be bombarded with mail

from traffic attorneys...

Whatever you do dont pay the ticket, you will get points

I have taken to court 17 tickets in the past 3 years (actually 16 in 1999 but my ticket days are over ) and i have 0 points.

best advice: dont speed

best advice if you are going to speed: V1

Default go to traffic school it will erase your points and cost close to $40..

but you will still have to pay fine and no insurance hikes

Default When you take it to court you wont pay the fine, although you (more)

Might have to pay court fees ($0 to $150 is the most i've paid).

My Lawyer charges me $50 per ticket... look for one that will charge less than $100.

Most of the times cops dont even show up so the ticket is dismissed... if the cop shows up then most likely it'll be no contest.

Hope this helps

MAX

ps. another option is that you go to court yourself (if you have the time)
