I have a 180t fw. It has a problem I haven't been able to diagnose. Everyday when I start the car for the first time it doesn't want to start. Ill try and try and eventually it does start but then it rough idles for about 5 mins. Then everything runs fine for the rest of the day even when i try to start it at the end of the work day. This only happens in the morning. Anybody else have this problem or any ideas. I tried replacing the fuel filter and had a diagnostic run on the entire fuel system and everything checks out. The car isn't even throwing any codes. Its just angry in the morning. What should I try next?

Coolant temp sensor? Dirty throttle/air filter?

If you wait till you get the OK light in the cluster, does it do the same thing?

It could be an early sign the fuel pump is starting to go.

maybe your car's just not a morning person. try pouring coffee into the gas tank in the morning.

hehe coffee didn't work. I replaced the ctp. I replaced the fuel pump. It says everything is fine after the OK symbol comes up. Could is be the throttle position sensor?

hehe coffee didn't work. I replaced the ctp. Fuel filter was replaced.This morning I waited until it said "ok" tried it, and no improvement. Would a failing fuel pump throw a code or give me problems even after starting? What symptoms would I see with a busted throttle position sensor?
