Default Help ! How can I convince them ?

I just dropped my TT for the 25k service.
I knew that a lot of dealer do not know about oil change for Haldex, and my dealer was one of them.

I told service manager to do the fluid change, and he had no idea. He at least talked to the chief mechanic, or what ever, on the phone and the mechanic goes 'the fluid SHOULD NOT be changed'. They says that they believe it should not be changed: hence they would not change the fluid even if some other dealers are doing so.

How can I convince them ? Can anyone tell me what is the source of this information, I mean 20k Haldex fluid change?

Thanks !

Default RTFM - Read the Service Bulletin

Have them look at Service Circular AMS-01-01 Dated Jan 29, 2001. Pg 8.

It calls for the "Haldex Clutch - Change Oil and Filter at 20K miles".

I can send you a copy of the doc if you want.

Default Ugh..

The source for the haldex clutch oil and filter change, is in your service manual. Look it up, take it in, and show it to your dealership. After that, call AoA and get a representative involved, who *will* let your dealer know otherwise. It is ABSOLUTELY necessary, and is covered under warantee as a scheduled maintenance service, and is listed in your regular maintenance guide. It is listed as having to take place at 20,000, 40,000, 60,000, etc. Every 20,000 miles it is REQUIRED to happen, period. Look it up in your service manual that came with your car, and tell your dealer to do it.

Now, just to clarify, your car is a Quattro, and not a FWD, right? If you're a FWD, you of course don't get this done since you don't have a Haldex unit. If your car is a Quattro though, it MUST be done, period, end of story, finito, and so on.

I'm getting real sick of hearing what dealers are telling customers. This is absolutely ludicrous. I had a dealership tell me they wouldn't do it even if I paid to have it done. That is just pure neglect, and lack of paying attention to the paperwork that they are *required* to read. Obviously didn't pay attention at training class either. Drives me absolutely crazy, and I wish Audi would release a bulletin to all dealers emphasizing this procedure and it's requirement to be done. Dealers sure are quick to pay attention to the bulletin about "no chipping", so one would think they'd pay attention to a bulletin that read "All your dealers are belong to stupid".
