Help my fuel gauge is possessed...

Yesterday I noticed that after 3 days of driving I had not consumed much gas... so I drove for about an hour running errands and I still had a full tank. Not really, it seemed that my fuel gage was stuck on full. Then at a stop light, I had my turn signal on, and the fuel gage started dancing to the beat of the blinker, from 1/2 to 3/4 to full, then back to 1/2 and so on.
I remember reading here that a couple of you have had the instrument cluster replaced.
Was this one of the reasons? Any body else with failed fuel gauge?

There is a fault in many of the fuel sensing units which causes incorrect readings. A few have even run out of gas when the gauge indicated 1/2 tank or more. I don't know if the entire cluster needs to be replaced for just that problem but you should take it in to your dealer ASAP.
Mine started acting up a few weeks ago so I never let the gauge read much below 1/2 just in case.

since there seems to be an even worse problem there, possibly due the new lower octane gas. I don't think it's the octane, but perhaps higher sulfur content.
Anyway, just working a theory.

need two (intact) male goats and a handful of silver and a piece of fabric or leather from the car's interior....
That, or, if you're the more conventional type, just call the dealer...
