Default HELP--TRANNY PROBLEM

HELP!! HAS ANYONE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SYNCHRONIZATION? WHEN I SHIFT FROM 2ND TO 3RD, IT GRINDS UNLESS I SHIFT REAL SLOO0W. I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT AT MY 10,000 CHECK=UP AND THEY SAID "OPERATING ACCORDING TO FACTORY SPECS". I DIDN'T BUY THE TT TO DRIVE LIKE A LITTLE OLD LADY. IT'S A 2001 ROADSTER-225 HP.ANY IDEAS OR SIMILAR PROBLEMS?? GIVE THE DEALER HELL??

Default I have the same problem (2nd to 3rd upshift), but I have a 5 speed.......

Problem is intermittent and the car needs to be driven for a while to make it show up. I had it in to the dealer, but the problem didn't happen for them.... so it doesn't exist. When it starts happening again I am going to drive straight to the dealer and have the tech drive the car.

Default The standard answer to this a couple years ago was to move the seat forward a click or two

so as to make certain the clutch pedal is fully depressed... may not help, but certainly can't hurt to try.

Default Re: HELP--TRANNY PROBLEM

Had the same problem a few months back. I'm driving a 2002 with six-speed transmission. The car was in the shop for about a week, but they fixed it, under warranty of course. The invoice for the work shows they replaced the 3rd gear set, the 3rd/4th clutch gear and the 3rd gear synchroniser ring. No shifting problems now. Good luck with your dealer.
