Default Hi guys...anyone found GOOD replacement spreakers for Bose system?

Long time no see, everyone. I'm just conducting my quad-annual search to see if anyone has found some good quality replacement speakers for the BOSE system. I don't want to replace the head unit or add an amp or tear seats and panels out...I just want to replace the crappy BOSE speakers. Mine are already worn out!!! Thanks.

Default You know they have different resistance than standard replacement speakers, right?

Generally most car audio drivers run at either 4-Ohm or 2-Ohm, with the former being the most common for mids & highs. The Bose speakers are neither, and you'd get funky sound if you tried to directly swap them.

Also, you would need to remove panels and the whole rear seat area if you wanted to access the rear speakers. The fronts aren't so bad, though you still need to remove the entire door panels.

I have pictures on my site documenting the whole process with my non-Bose TT, FYI.

Default Yep, that's why I was asking if anyone found some yet...

If I was going to use standard impedence speakers, I would have found some by now, but I can't find any with the same impedence as the BOSE speakers. I was wondering if someone had found some yet. Thanks.

Default

I'd love to find replacements for the Audi Concert speakers: terrible mid-range!

Default You will never find them . . .they don't exist!

The Bose speakers are a 1ohm speaker. No car audio speaker company makes that impedence.

Either live with the Bose setup or replace the speakers and add an amp to the stock head unit.

Default I disagree - I think the Concert (NON-Bose) soudns great...

The Symphony in the A4/S4, however sounds like cr*p whether in Bose or Non-Bose form. I am an audiophile and was pleased with the sound of the Concert at Bass +1 and Treble +1; on the Symphony I have to have the Treble cranked to full, the Bass up 3/4 and the Midrange down a notch or two to even approximate the same sound... :-(
