Default High pitched noise after shutting car off...

has anyone else experienced this or have any idea as to what is causing this highly annoying occurance? it seems like it's emanating from the dash area.

Default I get this too on my 2002 TTR 180 FWD

It does does from the dash area. My thinking is that it is associated with the heating/AC system. Possibly some vent closing after releasing the vacuum. I am going to try to see if it occurs if the heating/AC is off when I turn off the car.

Default It happens with or without the A/C on for me...

but just at lunch today I put my ear up close to try and discern exactly where it was coming from and it does seem to be from the AC unit. It really kills my ears and I know this is just going to be another one of those things that my dealer can't replicate.

how long does it make the noise? a couple seconds, or a long time?

Default depends.

at lunch today it only lasted about 3 seconds. but usually it will go on for roughly a minute if i'm sitting in the car. luckily you can't hear it outside of the car, so i've been making my exits quickly.

Default Yours is different from me.

Mine sound only lasts a few seconds and does not occur when the heat/AC has been off prior to turning the car off.
