High pitched noise after shutting car off...
#11
if I recall, others have mentioned an A/C-related noise that occurs when shutting off the car
I thought it was a kind of gurgle or whooshing noise, and I think I've heard some such noise in our cars. But it isn't very loud or irritating (to me, anyway).
Is the noise you're hearing very noticeable, or is it just a case where you don't want to be hearing any noise and so anything at all is noticeable to you? Have you had any other person (not mechanic types, just "normal" people :-) listen for it and evaluate if you are bonkers or if it's really a Bad Thing? :-) Just a suggestion since we all get wrapped up in our cars and can sometimes hear things that others don't hear... :-)

Noticable, but not loud or annoying.
It's hard to describe. It is a 2-3 sec. sound that sounds a bit like pressure is released and something is moving as a result. That's why I thought it was related to some A/C vent closing or returning to a neutral state. However, it is interesting that it occurs when turning off the ignition while the A/C is one, but not when turning off only the A/C and the car is still running.
