Default Highest estimate on miles to go on trip computer.....

Just topped withg gas today and my trip meter said 560 miles to go before next fill up. I Drove about 80 miles on the highway and I still up above 460. The most I have ever seen before was 350. Do you think there is a problem with the computer or is this normal. Most of the time I have the trip set to average miles per gallon so might not have noticed it before.

It estimates on what your MPG has been. Were you coasting down a mountain or somethin?

Default If I recall properly, the trip computer uses your avg mpg over the last 20 miles to predict...

the miles to go (using the fuel level also, of course). Sometime when people get low on gas, they drive very conservative, then when they fill up, that recent driving and the full tank of gas gives a unusually high prediction.

Default Aw cmon guys, this is an easy one: Fuel Sending Unit=bad. This is exactly what my car did when my

FSU was bad.

It's a common problem Mr. Gooner. See your dealer.

If you did a lot of downhill or highway driving before filling up, 560 is kinda correct.
