Default Hood scoop on Dahlback TT

A while ago I asked if anyone had thought of a hood scoop. Then I bought the June issue of eurotuner, because Dahlback's 1200 hp Golf is the featured car this month. Also pictured in the mag is a TT with a hood scoop. So, I dug around online and found it and here it is. It just so happens that it is exactly where I'd put a scoop and almost the same shape. So, opinions?

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1067311.phtml</a

Default I assume you never get rain ;-)

Hans was here in FL a few years back and we hung with him for a week with his GOLF. His cars are for racing and I wouldn't reccomend all that he does for daily drivers. IMHO. ;-)

Default maybe you could try contacting dahlback

How are your sweedish skills? =D

Default Im considering the streetable 550hp engine.

Also, there are plenty of cars out there on the street and have been there for decades with hood scoops. Not a new concept. Saying that, there are deflectors and such for water.

Here's another previous post concerning scoops.

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/630095.phtml</a

Default I read your post about the turbo losing heat...

I think the issue is giving it a cool charge of air. The air presures over the hood are insignificant.

There was a show on the GTO where the designer admitted the hood scoop was NOT funtional and provided no ram effect.

IMHO that is also true with any scoop out of or on the TT hood.

Default are you Fritz the cat? that's a lot of money for $500 hp...

plus... cost of a new clutch and a gear box that is now geared all wrong.

It should impress the kids at the DG though. ;-)

Default here is another post that gives a little heads up to what is offered.

i asked Danny about putting this engine on the street because in this email he states that it wouldnt be street legal. He answered back to me saying that he talked with Dahlback Racing and they told him that it is a race on Saturday, drive to work on Monday type machine.

Heh, Fritz the Cat...

https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1066124.phtml</a

Default I know what is out there, but thanks anyway ;-)

Good luck with the car, sounds like fun.

FWIW, BTDT with Hans D. in person, have an intake and TB ported and polished by Kieth Wilson personally. Know what it takes to get it.

my 2 cents is that I will be happy with a hybrid turbo and whatever esle the APR stage III includes. I am making 285 +/- HP now... so another 100 hp for 3-4 K seems like plenty of car for my immediate needs.
