Default hoTTub, JazziTT, 225TTR, and any other folks with tinted windows -- > question...

I am getting my windows tinted next week. I was given the option between "standard" tint and a "premium" tint. I asked what the heck the difference was, and was told that "standard" is simply dark, while the "premium" has a slightly greenish mirrored hue...similar to the new Lexus sport ute (RX300??) Anyways, does anyone have this "premium" tint, and if so any pics? It is a few bucks more, and I'm concerned how it will look with a silver car. TIA!

Default Here's a pic of my tint..

Its more suttle than 'regular' dark tint, it shows up REALLY nice on days with clouds with sunny breaks, and not really noticeable on really sunny days. Also what I found very nice about the tint is that at night, it isn't really 'dark', so it doesn't really bother my vision of the surroundings. The 'regular' black tint makes it harder for you to see the rear end.

The brand of tint I have is called "Madico", and the model is "Cool Chrome" I believe. And of course, this tint does what all the other tints do (well most), it'll protect the interior from the Sun, and at the same time protect your skin while under direct sunlight (UV rays..etc). It also reduces heat from the sun as well, making it a little more comfortable during the hot summer days while the car is getting baked outside

Hope this helps!

Default Here's mine, also with mirrored

I have the same comments as SwiftTT. My tint is SunGard Nichrome Silver and yes it was about twice the price. I'm happy with the look and the ease of night vision. My only complaint is the install. In my opinion getting the right installer is the most important thing.

Default Thanks! From the photo, it looks like a decent install, what would be your concerns?

My installer says that it will take most of a day to get it done....

Default Greg, that wasn't an option at the shop that installed mine. I just got the MD legal

35% tint... Simply darker (black)... It looks great IMHO. Same tint on wife's '99 Silver Bug.. Changed it's entire chracter.. Big difference.

Default Mine are a semi-metallic with a blue/grey tint which looks nice on the silver... Not too drastic.

Mine is 'FormulaOne Performance Automotive Film' and came with a liftime warranty. No really good shots to show you right now, but if I get a chance I'll take a photo later today and post it.

Default I think my wife chose the premium but........

I dont think it has as much to do with color as it does the *other* features.

The premium comes with a better warranty (Lifetime) and better scratch resistance.

The tint that is on my windows is the premium and it really is a smoke color, although in the picture they appear to be more reflective (silvery)

Default Chris, I think this is at the shop that did yours! Auto Trim on Grove Rd in Frederick?

I don't know if I'll go through with it up there though....I do NOT want green windows.

Default Seems odd that the metallic would be a greenish tint. The non-metallic at the shop where I had mine

done was greenish; the metallic was grey.
