Default hoTTub - questions about Votex spoiler install.

Did you do it yourself? Any comments on difficulty, tools needed, etc.? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Mine's going on soon...

Default I have that spoiler. I had the body shop paint and install...

it. It's bolted just in front of the tires. Then it's glued on over your existing stock spoiler area. I personally wouldn't have done it myself. Plus body shops usually guarantee their work, which makes any problems you might have...covered!

Default Yeah, I have the kit with the adhesive and the instructions...

...it just looks so simple, plus, I'm not having it sprayed at a regular shop.

Default Nothing that cant be handled by someone willing to

work on their own car.

The only tip I have is this:

I noticed that the installation instructions mention something about not completely gluing one section of the spoiler but it is not really clear as to what area they are talking about.

Anyway, take a look at this pic and locate where the spoiler meets up against the upper part of the nose (the horizontal line that connects from the lower front grill to the fender well)

This should *not* be glued IMHO since you will not be able to remove the front end if you ever need to do service without ripping it apart.

Other than that, make sure your surfaces are very clean before gluing

Default No. To hell with the state... ;-)

Though I carry the damaged one in the trunk to weasel out of potential tickets. I need to order a new one, though, and keep the order form in the car too.
