Default oic, that's pretty neat but I'm sure there a way to flash the regular v60 so that it does work

with the hands free kit. I'm sure this has been attempted.

I would think that the problem would be figuring out how to flash it. Probably complex.

Default BTW, if anyone is looking for one of these phones...

I think this guy's selling one for $100, which seems fair to me. Again, it's not the most updated phone, but it does work with the OEM handsfree interface plus it's a good, clean installation with the cradle (shown). The cradle charges the unit and also connects it to the TT's external antenna.

Here's the post from the guy who was selling one and a pic of my V60i.

Audi OEM V60i for sale?

Default Nothing special about that...

I've wired my past 2 phones to do the same. "Special" firmware is not needed. The linked article has the pinout (A4 shown, TT is the same), which is also in the Bentley wiring diagrams.

linky

Default Re: "Too bad Audi won't design their hands-free interface with non-Audi phones."

That's not true anymore. My 3.2 A3 had bluetooth with the Nav. and it work perfectly with my Samsung A900! It was sweet! It was a dream when it came to hands free. I loved it! It even downloaded my phone directory from my phone and would show up on the headsup display and nav. unit! The Mk2 TT will have this and it's awesome... did I say I liked it?

That is cool. Too bad this TT isn't a lemon so I could get a MkII!

Default Hullo? Anybody heard of Bluetooth? FWIW, the Mercedes version of this same phone was $ 1,800.

The problem with integrating old school cell phones was twofold-Firstly, the cost of integration had to be spread over a relatively small number of units that you could actually sell. Secondly, by the time the integration was complete, the phone was obsolete.

Bluetooth fixes both of those problems.

Is there an easy way to integrate Bluetooth into "older" Audis?

Default Re: How crazy is this? The Audi OEM V60i cell phone...

Hmmm, so that may explain it then.

My car came with the V60 hands free cradle, but no V60. So, I bought a used V60g, GSM model. I popped it in place and it fit like a glove. But it did nothing... no speaker provided sound, no remote microphone pick-up. So, do you have to have a specially coded phone then?

I went ahead and installed a Kuda kneebolster phone mount, which works nicely. Now I've got this Motorola phone mount just sitting there, with a nice matte aluminum rail. Is there anything I can do with this? Is there a way to mount a pad to it to use as an armrest?
