why are they called ricey?
I would like to get rid of the big red rear blotches and have clear lens, LED lights, and Lake Silver painted lens housing.
The add-on things that some have for their rear lights never looked just right on the silver TT imo.

Which all the street racer kids seem to love.
That's why you see Altezza style lights appearing on several Hondas, various Toyatas, some Mitsus, and a few Subarus...
Hell, even the truck market has Altezza style lamps now.
I wouldn't jump on this bandwagon, John, but it's your call.

...that would look 50000 times better than the silly red lights we have.
it would not look ricey at all. i'm still waiting for the first person to actually do this and start the revolution....i would, however i'd rather mod my performance than looks.

From what I've seen of them, they just don't seem to go with the car very well. In keeping with the symmetry theme of the TT though, I'd love to have my painted fronts match the painted rears. I've been kicking around some ideas for this also, 'cause I also am not a fan of the "big red blotches", lol. Always hard to change something and make it look like it's meant to be that way.

I plan to paint the 3.2 valence Lake Silver and am considering painting the black part on my 3.2 rear wing. If I had to do over again I would have gone with the ABt slipover rear wing, like Bob (ZGTT) did. I also plan to replace my stainless mesh in my lower grills with OEM honeycome mesh and paint Lake Silver.
When you stand and stare at the rear of the TT, those big red blobs don't look correct either.
Some things look good on some color cars and not on others. Take how Chris repainted his TT and did the rear lights to match - Awesome! Sunroofs in a black, green, or blue TT look good, but IMO not for a silver TT. It's the little things that make a difference, such as how you painted the Audi rings on the front of your TT to match your color.
I may just buy the Altezza's just to see what I can do with them.
