Default you need to remove the bumper. don't think its possible to remove without taking off the bumper.

also, you can get black rings from AMS.

go to tuning program
-> audi
-> TT
-> aerodynamics

second item: ABT AUDI TT RINGS BLACK FOR FRONT GRILLE<ul><li><a href="http://www.advancedmotorsport.com/site/main.htm">black rings</a></li></ul>

Default He wants the rings off not the grill. Taking a thin flat head screw driver works

just take your time when going around the rings, its easy to do

Default yeah, but its the actual plastic, no chrome on it. you won't have to worry about rock chips and

stuff.

Default you have to sand the chrome finish to a satin finish, then paint the gloss black and

then clear coat it. all the while with your bumper off. you should consider other mods that require the bumper removal, so you don't have to remove it just to paint the rings.
