Default I'm assuming this still means variable valve timing??

If so, in most cars I thought this created more power in the higher rpm's. However with the stock 225 TT there seems to be no difference except for APR's stage III+ kit claims 13 more HP with the VVT engines compared to the non-VVT.

Default here's one! If you're thinking about stg III

check out these graphs from APR...<ul><li><a href="http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/tts3_power_figures.html">STG III with VVT</a></li></ul>

Default 03's are all BEA with VVT - biggest benefit is wide band 02 sensors

and slightly improved mileage.
