I pulled off the cap and removed the nut, then what? I pulled and it wouldn't come off.

Once you have removed the nut, mark the wiper position on the window so you know where it goes back.

Then close the hood
Lift the wiper arm up like you are cleaning the windshield and then wiggle the arm a bit bback and forth

it helps also, if the wiper arm is bent out.
Puts less pressure on the pivot end.
