Default How do you go about cleaning ,relubing Forge 007.......

Can you take it apart while still on car or should I remove it..And what type of lube and how much do you use..Also, how often should i do this...It is only a month old but I am getting a real high pitch whistle..Nothing has change on the car...so it leaves me to believe it might be DV...sorry for the length here....Thanks

Default I used-->

Mobil synthetic lube; perhaps somebody's got something "better." I had 006's (old version upgraded to new just "in case") on my K04'd Jetta and only actually cleaned them once in 25K miles. They never got dirty and always reacted quickly so I just didn't do anything but inspect them from time to time.
At any rate, it doesn't hurt to clean it out and put small coating of lube inside...don't load it up! Take the thing off for service.
Since the TT isn't chipped yet, there hasn't been reason to service.

Default Yes you can easily do it on the car

try to not drive the car, valve gets quite warm. pop off the top small vacuum hose and unscrew the top. take spring and piston out and clean. put small layer over everything and put back together. you can get the hi temp Mobil 1 grease from any Autozone/Kragen/Pepboys and it comes in the tubes for grease guns.

Default DV Service

I clean and re lube my 006 DV with every oil change, at this point the grease seems quite dirty. From start to finish only takes 20 min. on a 006, a 007 would only take about 5 min.
