Is it something I could do without access to a garage and very little experience. I am getting sick of paying money to mod my car.

Very detailed write up... Not too difficult, this was my first time installing a boost gauge also.

You will need about 6 feet of like 3/16" braided rubber hose. Don't just use the "windshield washer" type hose.
Get 4 *decent* SS hose clamps.
Find the hole/plug in the firewall.
Remove the lower dash to get at the hose, and to wire in the lighted gauge. (I assume you have one)
I used 3/16" braided rubber hose from a hardware store, and this brass 'T'.
If you can't find this, let me know, I'll get you one. They are like $1.85.

Use the main vacuum line to tap for the boost.
The main line coming from the manifold, is at the bottom here. It has the enlarged curve at the back end, because I did not trim the hose, when I added in the "T" connector.

A close-in view of the connection.

Routed back thru the firewall. look up closely here, there is a small rubber plug that covers a hole. My plug was actually triangular in shape.

Hole in firewall here.

The rest is just connecting the gauge to the hose coming through the firewall, and mounting it.
The hole is right above the gas pedal.
