Default How long does it take from "on the ship" to "at the dealer"?

Hi there everyone.
I dropped 1000 for "right of first refusal" on the next TT coming into my dealership. The next one in is "already on the ship" and is a loaded Green TT Q. (Some of you may hvae remembered me asking about Green TTs). The next one is a black loaded TTQ. He has been alotted 2-3 per month.

So, my question to all you lucky bastards who already have your TTs is: what is the time between "on the ship" and "at the dealer"?

Thanks much.

By the way, I bought a Bright Yellow Audi a4 99.5 1.8t for my daily driver. It has alot more pep than I thought it would. I would have never thought of getting one (I was planning 323), but I skipped over to the A4 forum and got convinced.

Default Re: How long does it take from "on the ship" to "at the dealer"? It depends.... (long)

I'm sure you'll hear several versions of this. It takes about 8-10 days for the ship to reach port (you didn't say which port, Boston is closer than Texas) and once the ship reaches port, two steps happen. First the car has to be taken through customs, checked out and assigned to your dealer's inventory. That can take up to two weeks (Remember, there are a lot of cars on these ships to off load and check out). Once the car is in inventory it can take as little as a few days (the first cars out the door) to as long as a month, depending on where your dealer is on the shipping list. My car reached reached port on July 20 and it reached my dealer on August 15. That's close to four weeks. And every day from July 20 to August 19, when I picked the car up was pure agony.

Hope that helps.
