How many megapixels does one REALLY need? 5? More? Less?

slide film (e-6 process) has no grain . . . but it does have a diglobular structure (during processing grain is "converted" to dyes).
Guess my 8x10 films = roughly 266.6666somthing megapixels which should be just about enough resolution.

The optics are wonderful, the circuitry is pretty good. Extremely user friendly. The Zeiss optics were a major selling point for me.
Other factors that I really liked:
-It feels like an SLR. I can hold it correctly. It doesn't feel like a $10 Wal-Mart point and shoot.
-It has provisions for external flash. IMHO, built in flashes are crap for MOST uses.
-Decent optical zoom
Things I really DISLIKE:
-Zoom could have been a lot longer in the size of the thing
-Viewfinder is a bit small. Also, I prefer the digital viewfinder over a cheap rangefinder, but it's hard to get used to--- especially if you're used to TTL features like an SLR. A good rangefinder would have been more useful, but less popular.
-Not crazy about the proprietary media format. Would have loved a CF slot to put a microdrive in.
-No RAW or TIFF format. It only does JPG.
-The zoom controls are on the left side at the front of the lens. While convenient for two hand shooting, it's a pain in the *** if you want to hold the camera and shoot with one hand (which is otherwise VERY easy to do.)

you should keep in mind that with a good film (hi resolution) the limiting factor is NOT the film at all, but the lens.
End use is an often neglected parameter, but thats another book in itself.

(and the Lord said, Let there be light . . . and it was good!)

My ONLY 35 right now is a Nikkormat. The meter sucks, but it's a pretty good camera... you just have to know how to use one without "program"

In the bottom of <a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/584543.phtml">this</A> message, I said:
"Another thought: while film may be closer to 20 MP, your average consumer camera have such ****ty optics that the film could be MUCH worse and still look just as good. Optics matter, a lot!"
