Default How sensitive is quattro to tread depth?

I'm contemplating a fresh pair of track tires on one axle at 6/32 depth. The used tires on the other axle are 3/32.

I can't imagine this would make a difference, but I thought I'd sanity check.

Default i think f/r difference is better than l/r difference. i also think haldex forgives more than torsen.

that being said, i dont think 3/32 is a big deal for either?
can anyone back me up?

Default IIRC it has to be within 3% difference.

Our rolling diameter is 25" so 1% would be 1/4", 3% would be 3/4" which is 24/32. 3/32 should be fine.

Disclaimer: I suck at math so everything except for the 3% difference might be wrong.

Default

that was my thinking. It has to be closer than most people keep tire inflation.

Default It's actually the reverse. Torsen acts as an open diff in most circumstances. Haldex is a hard

engagement. I have tested this many times and taking advantage of this behavior on both our cars at the moment

Default My actual data suggest that if I run 0 to 3% bigger on the rear, no issues. 1% bigger on the front

ESP goes haywire on a turn. ESP off, no issues. Realistically it accounts for tire differences plus the speed differential of the front axle to the rear when turning.
