Default serious input - make sure ESP is OFF!

i've made the mistake of trying to get a good launch with it still on... well it seemed that as the power came on, was then reduced by ESP to avoid wheel spin - then the clutch didn't fully engage ... and the smell.... oh, and yes there definitely was some driver error involved, but the ESP didn't help...

Default Clearly it's too much to ask to not be a total **** to newbies

I met some new-to-the-forum folks at Wendy's GTG on Saturday. I was nice to them, and hope they'll maybe hang out here. I tried to answer questions as I was able to.

Apparently, you would have just poked fun at them until they went home.

What's up with that? Is there a shortage of people here with whom you know that you can be silly/stupid? Can you not leave the new folks alone?

Hey, if this is unreasonable or I'm being a stick in the mud (why is that the measurement of boredom?), then pick on me - I'll ignore you. I just thought we liked it as the community grew. Sort of the point, no?

Default I have to agree with TTDude... I was not trying to give anyone a hard time...

But like I said before, when someone comes on here who is not a normal forum visiter and asks a very simple and innocent question, why do you all feel the need to flame him? If you have nothing better to do with your day then give people sh*t, you are in the wrong forum. Please see the Honda Civic forum. People come on here because they love their TT's and there are interesting and knowledgable people on here. If you want to be immature and off-topic, then go to the OT forum. Say what you want and do what you want, just my .02.

Default You're being a stick in the mud...it's really that simple.

If you weren't spending so much time focusing on me, maybe you could set a better example for everyone to follow. Maybe if you even checked a few of my other posts out, you'd find that I'm an extremely helpful individual, full of all kind of information. I just like to have some fun once in a while and that's what you're aparently obsessed with. Lighten uf Francis!

Default I'm not spending that much time...

I know you provide lots of good information, and this wasn't really meant as an attack on you in particular. I'm not asking you to not have fun on the forum either. I'm just suggesting that when a straightforward question is asked by an occaisional poster that it may be a good time to answer seriously (or say nothing).
