Default How to take golf clubs on a Roadster getaway weekend?

My wife and I are planning a long weekend trip to Steamboat Springs, but we desperately want to take our two sets of golf clubs. What's the best solution... luggage in the trunk and the golf bags on a trunk rack? If so, which one is best? How much $$$? What about rear view visibility issues? Thanks for suggestions!

Default That's pretty ambitious! That's the only way you are going to get the golf clubs there

via TTRQ. If you have enough time and can spare the money, you could always ship your clubs to the hotel, and ship them back home, when you are done with vacation.

Ship your clubs via UPS and you'll have no worries. I know people who do this with skis.

Could get pretty expensive. I think a golf bag fully loaded easily outweighs skis (w/ poles & boots)

Default That's why I bought a coupe - for long weekends with friend and clubs. What if you don't take your

golf bags - See if this works. Take minimum number of clubs and separate them from the bag to see if clubs fit alone. Then get a couple of Ping Mantis bags which are light and small. See if placing the empty Mantis bags on top of clubs and luggage will fit. And don't take much luggage. . . . If Ping bags don't fit, take them back.

Joel, if you try the above solution, let us know how it worked or what you ended up doing.

Default Sunday bag, 5 irons, utility wood & putter. Place at angle with wood out of bag.

I also have classic car carrier for trunk deck to accomidate additional luggage bag.

I hit a 975D 11.5* driver I also use for fairway shots and step on a 3 iron where needed. Not as good as 14 club limit but still have great fun walking new links on the road.
