Default How is the TT Coupe ride on Southern California Freeways?

I'm very close to buying a 225 TT Coupe which I have test driven on city streets, but not the freeway. Portions of freeways in Southern California are poured concrete sections which are not level and create a "rippling" effect. How does the TT ride over these areas? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks! Kirk

Default Often brutal

The ripple is particualrly bad on most of the 5 and 405 and very noticeable throughout the LA region. I get to LA often and bought my 180 TTR there. I doubt I would have bought the car if I lived in LA. By comparison, the ride on most of the Vegas freeways is smooth as silk.
The LA freeway ride comfort was discussed in previous posts and most LA respondents said the ride was OK, you just had to know what lanes to ride in and at what speed. Either I am too sensitive or they are used to it. I'd strongly recommend a freeway test ride before you buy.

Default I have a 180 coupe. I have really no problem with the concrete surfaces on the freeways.

The noise level is acceptable and the handling is great on concrete surface. I think you will find TT an enjoyable car to drive in SoCal.

Good Luck!

Thanks! I'll be sure and check out some of the notorious freeway sections during my next test drive.

Default ditto - no probs and have eibachs, 18's and bad back.....

It is a small, short wheelbase vehicle and rides superbly for what it is.

Default Rough Ride

The stiffness of my car with the sport suspension and 18" wheels is rather jarring in most cases on our less than decent LA freeways

wheel base car with a stiff sports suspension.
